This project was undertaken by Graham Applin, working with AECOM London, on a resort development in the Maldives for the owner of one of the world’s leading luxury resort groups.

The brief was to create the “best destination resort in the world.” The programme included three hotels—a Fairmont, a Swissôtel, and a Raffles—to be located across five islands, each operating as a largely independent destination with staff accommodation and servicing facilities located on the islands.

The masterplanning process involved an intensive on-site design charrette, during which multiple options were explored before the final design strategy was confirmed.
